Greg
Geisler
As
a new trustee, Greg Geisler represents the Board of Historic Denver’s
FaithAction program. Deeply committed to Denver’s “sacred places,”
he says, “I want to keep sacred places as center for the community
to assemble.” Geisler’s background in community arts includes two
terms as Director of the Mayor’s Commission on Cultural Affairs,
He was active in the City’s Art in Public Places program at Denver
International Airport.
Geisler has
served as Executive Director of the Governor’s Commission on Community
Service since 196. He provides executive support to a 15-member
gubernatorial appointed commission that promotes civic participation
and volunteerism throughout Colorado. Geisler attend the University
of Portland and hold an M.F.A in Theatre and a BA in communications.
Thomas
A. Sprung
A past recipient of Historic Denver’s Ann Love Award for historic
preservation, Thomas A. Sprung joins the Board of Trustees after years
of volunteer working Denver. Sprung has assisted the Downtown Denver
Partnership, The Lower Downtown District, Inc., Colorado Preservation,
Inc., the Business Improvement District and worked on many historic
preservation projects.
Sprung founded
Sprung Construction, Inc. in 1976. He Is president and owner of
the company that specializes in commercial and residential projects
in Colorado. Sprung attended the University of Denver and earned
a BS in Anthropology.
Christena
Estes Faraci
Former Historic Denver volunteer, Christena Estes Faraci has joined
the Board of Trustees “to serve both the Historic Denver community
and the community at large.” Faraci donated hundreds of hours to help
Historic Denver with the designation of the Downtown Denver Historic
District. Her background as a lobbyist and legislative liaison was
invaluable to this project.
As Director
of Government Relations for CRL Associates, Inc., Faraci develops
and implements political strategies, advocates and mediates for
clients, researches public policy and is a community activist. She
is Mayoral Appointee to the Living Wage Task Force and the Empowerment
Zone Facilitation. Faraci attended the University of Iowa for her
BA in Political Science/History and received a MA in Higher Education
Administration from the University of Denver where she graduated
with honors.
David
C. Jansen
David C. Jansen, Certified Public Accountant and Director of Lehman,
Butterwick & Company, P.C. comes to Historic Denver with a background
in the tax credit area. He has worked closely with developers, investors
and consultants to maximize available tax credits for low income and
historic projects. Since 1984, Jansen has provided services to clients
in industries that include construction, real estate, government,
trade associations, not-for-profit and manufacturing.
A member of
the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Colorado
Society of Certified Public Accountants, Jensen began his career
in California. He received his MBA from Golden Gate University and
his BS from California State.
Brad
Buchanan
Architect Brad Buchanan has been practicing architecture, construction
and development for over 19 years and has experience in all areas
of design and construction including commercial, retail, housing,
multi-family, institutional, multi-use and adaptive re-use facilities.
Throughout his career, Buchanan has been responsible for many competition
winning designs. Among his many successes in Denver are The Sugar
Building, The Watertower Lofts, City Park South Urban Infill Project
and the 17th and Downing Street Condominiums.
Buchanan is
a member of the American Institute of Architects, the Downtown Denver
Partnership, a commissioner for the Denver Landmark Preservation
Commission, President of the Board of Directors of Colfax on the
Hill, Inc. and a Board member of Historic Denver, Inc. He attended
the Department of Architecture at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio
and earned his degree in Environmental Design.
