|  Who May Enter the Contest?
The contest is open to homeowners and professionals (architects, designers, contractors) who were involved in the project with written permission from the
owner.
What are the Award Categories*?
- Sympathetic Addition
- Kitchen Renovation/Addition
- Bathroom Renovation/Addition
- Exterior Rehabilitation
- Interior Rehabilitation
*All work must enhance contemporary life, but respect the historic character of the house.
What Homes are Eligible Homes?
- The building must be located in the City & County of Denver and serve as a residence.
- Structures must be at least 50 years old.
- Projects must have been completed within the past five years.
What should I submit?
- Completed Official Entry Form (PDF)
- $50.00 entry fee per category
- Overall photograph showing the addition and the original structure
- At least two photographs of the before views
- At least two photographs of the after views, including the same views as the “before” where possible
- Floor plans (before and after) of the house and each level of the addition
- A brief narrative describing the completed work and its affect on daily life in the home
- All entries should be in a 3-ring binder with photos mounted in see-through plastic sleeves.
- Photographs may be color or black and white. Each photograph should be labeled with the name and address of the applicant and the category entered. If you have no “before” photos of any kind, you will be ineligible for entry.
Why Enter?
Winners will be considered for feature stories in the Rocky Mountain News and an issue of the Historic Denver News. There will be an open house tour of all winning homes (date and time of open house to be determined) along with various other prizes and recognition.
All entrants will receive a one-year membership to Historic Denver and related benefits.
