St Paul's Methodist

Built in 1910 by the architect builder James B. Hyder in the Greek revival style in Capital Hill at 16th and Ogden. St. Paul's Buddhist/Christian Contemplative Service also uses the sanctuary. Various Jazz ensemble performances are offered monthly. St. Paul's has a long history of answering the needs of the community. The church was the first home to the Colorado AIDS Project. They currently offer an overnight shelter for men each night (NewGenesis), meals for over 300 hungry people each Sunday (Sunday Meal Program), as well as offering diverse worship settings. A preservation program of the building has been planned and they are currently in first of three phases. The building needs to address to both electrical and fire safety standards. The plexi-glass panes over the stained glass windows need to be replaced and the masonry needs to be cleaned and repaired.
