Built in 1898 in the heart of Globeville as an important center of the Carpath-Russian Serbian ethnic immigrant communities. The church and congregation has survived many hurdles to survive including flood, suburban flight, and the threat of an Urban Renewal plan to bulldoze the entire neighborhood. The church stands as an anchor in the Globeville community, which has gone from a Northern and Eastern European immigrant community to a Hispanic community. The church sponsors the Orthodox Community Outreach Center to minister to the needs of the poor and destitute in urban Denver.
