Built in 1883, the tall steeple of this Gothic Revival church soars over the San Rafael National Register District. Scottish Presbyterians originally built the church. It was home to the African American People's Presbyterian for the majority of the 1st half of the century. Currently the church serves an African American congregation who intends to restore the church not only for use for services, but to have a food distribution center for the needy, a senior center, and a latch key program. Hope Communities, Comfort Care (a Hospice service provider), and the Five Points Business Association currently use the building.
