Assignment 2020 Photo Contest
Unknown Stories of Denver
Celebrate National Historic Preservation Month by taking part in Historic Denver’s annual photo contest May 1 through May 31. The 2020 theme is: What are the Unknown Stories of Denver?
As part of the celebration of its 50th year as an advocate for the places and spaces that Denverites love, Historic Denver is asking the community to respond by safely walking their neighborhoods to take photos or to send photos they’ve taken in the past. Participation is sought from all corners of the city, and every neighborhood, highlighting unsung neighborhood favorites. Contest entrants could win an exciting Grand Prize including a private group walking tour of Larimer Square to be shared with friends and family. Historic Denver will share submissions with a photo credit throughout the month on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Fans and followers can “like” submissions, and the submission with the most likes will win the Fan Favorite Award. All prize-winning entrants will receive a free one year membership to Historic Denver.
Historic Denver hopes to see community gathering spaces, special architecture, bridges, parks and public art, and the people who love them, or the absence of people to mark this historic moment. Submissions give viewers a deeper appreciation for the city’s architecture and the ways that the community notices historic places and neighborhoods. From everyday cell phone camera users to professional photographers, Historic Denver welcomes a wide range of beautiful imagery that captures Denver’s magic. Along with a prize package, winners will be highlighted on Historic Denver’s website, social media channels and in an article published in Historic Denver News.
Photos may be submitted May 1-31, 2020 to firstname.lastname@example.org Up to 5 submissions at a time and please mark your files with your name and the name of the location. Follow along on Facebook and Instagram to view submissions as they roll in throughout the month of May.
